Battery Powered 5M Telescopic Flag Pole LED Strip Tape Light Green
This 5-Meter Green Flagpole Strip is specifically designed for the "purist" camper or rally attendee who needs a completely independent lighting system. Unlike the previous "Dream Chasing" models that focus on colour and patterns, this strip is a high-visibility utility tool designed to make your flagpole a beacon.
This strip uses a Polyurethane (PU) coating rather than a silicone tube. This is a critical distinction for flagpole use:
Clarity: PU gel offers superior light transparency, meaning the "Green" LEDs appear sharper and brighter.
Durability: PU is highly resistant to "yellowing" from UV exposure. Since flagpole lights spend all day in the sun, this ensures the light remains a crisp white rather than turning a murky yellow over time.
Flexibility: It remains pliable in cold weather, whereas some silicone housings can become stiff and brittle.
The "8-AA" Power Strategy
Operating a 5-meter strip on AA batteries is a balancing act between brightness and runtime.
Phase
Battery Performance
Visibility
0–8 Hours
Peak Voltage
Maximum brightness; visible from across a large festival field.
8–12 Hours
Voltage Drop
Light begins to dim slightly but remains functional for task lighting.
12–24+ Hours
"Moonlight" Mode
A soft glow that acts as a great "marker" for finding your tent in the dark.
Pro-Tip: If you use Ni-MH Rechargeables (1.2V), the strip will start slightly "warmer" in colour but will stay at a consistent brightness for much longer than Alkaline batteries (1.5V), which drop in power quickly.
Mounting for High-Visibility
Because this strip comes with double-sided tape on the back, you have two ways to mount it to your flagpole:
Permanent Stick: Clean the flagpole with alcohol and stick the strip directly to the pole.
Warning: If the pole is telescopic, the thickness of the strip may prevent the sections from sliding back inside each other.
The "Spiral Wrap" (Recommended): Keep the adhesive backing on and wrap the strip around the pole in a spiral. Secure it at the top, middle, and bottom using your Velcro Straps. This allows you to remove the lights easily when it's time to pack up.
Weather Resistance (IP65)
The IP65 rating means the LEDs are protected against rain from any direction. However, the battery box is the “weak link.”
Protect the Box: Since your flagpole is likely outdoors, place the battery box in a small waterproof "dry bag" or a Tupperware container at the base of the pole.
Avoid Submersion: Do not let the end of the strip sit in a puddle at the bottom of the pole, as the cut points are the most vulnerable to moisture.
