Adding "Cool White" to the mix changes the vibe of your project significantly! While "Warm White" mimics old-fashioned incandescent bulbs, Cool White has a crisp, bluish-white tint that mimics modern daylight, fluorescent office lighting, or high-intensity LEDs. Ideal for dolls house, display cabinets, dioramas and much much more
Here is how to best utilize that Cool White tone in your build:
Best Use Cases for Cool White
Modern Dioramas: Perfect for a miniature garage, a hospital scene, or a futuristic sci-fi lab.
Retail Displays: If you're lighting a small cabinet for jewelry or silver, Cool White makes metals "pop" and sparkle much better than warm light.
Winter Scenes: If your model has snow, Cool White is the only way to go—warm light will make the snow look yellow and aged.
Integrating the "Cool" Tone
Cool White can sometimes feel a bit "harsh" or sterile. If it feels too bright for your model, try these tricks:
Diffusing the Light: Place a small piece of frosted scotch tape or a thin slice of a white ping-pong ball over the 10mm bulb. This will soften the "glare" while keeping that crisp white colour.
Colour Filtering: If you decide you want a different colour later (like a police siren or a computer screen), you can use a permanent marker (Sharpie) to tint the bulb. Blue or Green works exceptionally well over a Cool White base.

Pro-Tip
Drill Size
10mm
Test the hole on a scrap piece of material first; you want a "snug" fit so the bulb doesn't vibrate or fall out.
Wire Management
140mm Length
Since the wires are short, use small "P-clips" or even drops of hot glue to keep the wires tucked neatly against the corners of your model.
Battery Box
65mm x 30mm x 20mm
Mount this on the back of your display so the weight of the 9V battery doesn't make your model front-heavy or prone to tipping.
