3-Meter Receiver Lead: This long lead allows you to keep the IR Receiver and Mains Adaptor safely tucked away inside a caravan, tent, or shed.
External Placement: Only the waterproof silicone strip needs to be exposed to the elements.
IR Sensitivity: Because the receiver is on a long lead, you can position it near a window or door so the remote works perfectly from outside.
Professional Mounting Tips
To ensure your 5-meter strip lasts for years, follow these mounting guidelines:
The "No-Cut" Rule: Because the strip is factory-sealed at both ends for waterproofing, never cut the strip. Cutting it will break the vacuum seal and allow moisture to corrode the internal copper circuitry.
Ditch the Plastic Ties:As highlighted in your description, plastic zip ties have sharp edges.In high winds, the strip vibrates, and the plastic tie acts like a saw against the silicone. Use Velcro straps to provide a "soft" but secure hold.
Spiral Wrapping: If mounting to a flagpole, wrap the strip in a spiral. This provides 360-degree visibility and reduces wind resistance compared to a single vertical run.
